Service tech. & store manager were incredible helpful, polite, and even fun to talk to. While being serviced it was nice to see the tech. socialize and enjoy themselves but not to the point where it hindered their performance. Favorite thing was the loud but not too loud music in the service garage. Even when a small thing was temporarily forgotten they all shouted and reminded each other with out any input from me needed.

I had such a phenomenal first experience at Uncle Ed's Oil Shoppe! I came into the shop in need of new head lights and an oil change. Not knowing a lot, I was educated on the process in a way that was not condescending-like some of the other oil changes I've had. This was by far my best visit to Uncle Ed's. The reason is that Aaron D. was the manager on duty. He was personable, professional, caring and informative. He listened to my questions about my vehicle and made strong recommendations. The way he explained why I needed to plan for additional services in the future made sense, but I did not feel pressured. In the past, managers and technicians presented information and made suggestions in a way that seemed designed to pressure, not inform. Aaron did not make me feel pressured, but he was able to convey the importance and seriousness of the future maintenance that my car needs. Aaron communicated in a way that made me feel like he cared and was an expert that I should listen to. I did not feel like it was a high pressure sales experience like in the past. As a result, I am planning to schedule the items he recommended. I hope that you will make sure that Aaron feels valued and think about hiring and training other managers like Aaron. Aaron is a keeper!

Asst manager was slower than his employees, I had 2 vehicles leave before me, i was first in the bay. The employees were not well directed as they did not have anyone to model behavior after. It took me 35 minutes from the time I entered the bay until I left. I know I will never return to this location again.

About halfway through my oil change I am told I have a nail in my tire and that if I get nitrogen in my tires it will keep the leak from happening too quickly. I buy the nitrogen out of worry and hurry because I was heading up North right after the oil change. 20 minutes later the nitrogen replacement is finished which was supposed to be a "3 minute job." I quickly drive to discount tire and am told there is no nail after an hour wait. I understand and appreciate the technician being observant, but am frusterated with the mistake that cost me my whole morning and $9 a tire-that was ultimately unnecessary. I recommend a surpervisor verifying something like this before it is brought to a customer's attention. Thanks for listening.

Received an oil change and not more than 30 mom's afterwards my act stalled with the check engine light on. During my visit oil had spilled and it was washed with water and compressed air. On my way back my light went on. I had to stop and CVS and when I tried to make it home my car stalled. I called the location and they came out and checked the engine light which had to do with timing. I believe the sensor for the cam shaft or the magnet cam shaft adjustor was affected during the oil change and or water with compressed air. The tech / business is saying it is not related but I have not had any problems with my acr prior. I plan on taking my car in to a mechanic and will seek further help. Thank you.

My engine overheated and flashed a warning to shut it down. After it cooled, I went directly to Uncle Ed's. I was so grateful to see Justin B there. I've learned from experience that I can count on Justin for smart, highly knowledgeable, and very friendly service. Justin immediately diagnosed the issue, offered his recommendation, and delivered great service. He even offered service above and beyond the services normally available. My car died on me after my oil change was complete and Justin, Lance and George were all so kind and understanding. Not only did they let me wait there in their office and offer me water, but George was so determined to get a charge to my battery that he tried two different jump boxes multiple times, they brought up two of their personal cars to try to jump it multiple times and then he even replaced my battery with another one to find out if that was the issue. They all cared so much about me getting taken care and getting where I need to be. It meant the world to me to have not only been seen as a customer today, but as an everyday person that they truly cared about. I've gone to this location for a majority of my oil changes and that will not change. I am so grateful for the service I was provided today. Thank you for creating such a comfortable environment for the customers and making them feel truly cared for. It's very rare to find and it means a lot. Thank you so much.

I was able to get in the shop immediately. Justin and I chatted a few minutes, then Lance came over to advise. He was very helpful, professional, and friendly. Justin and the techs took care of everything (including a nitrogen tire service), and Aaron (manager) introduced himself, then -- per my request -- showed me how to reset the oil service message reminder. Before going to Eds I had never paid more than $20 for an oil change and I was made very aware of why that is. Justin and Aaron were absolutely fantastic the whole time I was there. Justin uncovered a problem that I was having with my usual oil change shop where they were telling me I had to change my cabin filter every time I went in, so I did. Unknown to me, they never did. I learned this when Justin opened my passenger door and said he was going to check my cabin filter. This had never been done before so I knew right away that I'd been bamboozled all those times. As for the service I received at Eds - I was greeted in a friendly way, told about important services offered by the shop, and treated with respect. I know next to nothing about cars but they didn't treat me like an idiot. I have now had 2 oil changes here and I intend to always return to them for my service. Justin and Aaron are the types of employees that are going to keep you guys in business and I believe fully that they should be compensated for that to a higher degree than whatever they currently are. Did not like the upselling. Was annoyed to find out that air filters should be replaced every 24000 miles but Uncle Ed's recommended a change every 12000. Justin was very professional but as someone with customer service experience it was obvious that your business model is based on providing products at a high margin to people who are likely to buy things they don't need or can get cheaper.

I paid $78.95 for an oil change - if I went to a dealer, it wouldn't cost that much! If I was to purchase the parts myself, I would have trouble spending upwards of $30! I'm not sure what the other $50 it cost me to have this done at your shop was, or did to jack the price this much - but you've lost a customer. Too damn expensive.

I am only here for a short time as the patient must stay near U of M for 100 days then I will fly back to Oklahoma. Discount tire recommended you as I had an issue with a tire. Your guys were awesome beyond words!!! My first visit was with Brenden, Jalen and Lance and they went above and beyond even though I didn't need an oil change yet but due to the way they treated me I was coming back for sure. Then I had car trouble and because I know absolutely no one here I felt lead to go back to my guys at Uncle Eds and Justin, Jalen and Lance treated me like family even though my problem was not necessarily something on your menu. They were very smart and what they didn't know they tried to look up. I had to drive my sisters borrowed car back to St. Joseph Michigan and get a rental car but the guys made sure I knew how to get the vehicle and myself home safely with a 2 1/2 hour drive ahead of me. Mind you I was in tears and they took the time to explain things not only to myself but to my brother in law. I WILL be stopping back in and buying them lunch or bringing them cookies at the least for their kindness and compassion. They didn't have to help me but they did. You have an amazing group of your men at this location and I will scream it from the roof tops that Uncle Eds Oil change place offers exceptional service way above some better known chains. Frankly if it had not been the closest place in this emergency due to past issues with another Uncle Ed I would have gone out of my way to go some place else. It's horrible to think hatcafter repatriated costs, they continually missed this. They had several attempts to correct. This was my first visit to Uncle Ed's. I am new to Michigan so I was not sure where to go for an oil change. I just knew that I wanted it done fast. I am very glad I happened to find Uncle Ed's. I had an enjoyable visit. The staff was extremely friendly, courteous and helpful.
There was only one issue with my visit; they did not have the air filter for my car in stock. However, they called multiple stores for me trying to find one, but unfortunately no one in this area seems to carry them (I drive a Honda CR-Z, which isn't a very common car, so I understand). But I deeply appreciate their attempt to get me taken care of.
Wayne (who greeted me), Justin (the asst. manager in training) and Brendan (the manager on duty, I believe) were very friendly and helpful throughout my visit. I was nervous coming here for the first time, but they made me feel very comfortable and I am thankful and appreciative of their help.
I will be sure to visit this location again for my next oil change.

Very helpful. Took care of everything that was necessary in a timely fashion and kept me well in the loop as to why certain things needed to be done while I was there. They found that the fluid in my brand new radiator was old and had not been replaced like it should have, so I was able to get that done while I was there. They even replaced a bolt/cap that had been stripped out for me. A couple of my friends will be stopping in this week to check it out. These guys were great. I will definitely be back.

Andrew, the service manager, was very professional. My car is a high performance Shelby GT 500 and he took it upon himself to be the sole administrator of my oil change. He took pains to assure that the 5-50 castor synthetic oil I needed was obtained from the local parts store. He performed my oil change carefully and efficiently.
After I had mentioned that my car had been in storage the past 8 months, the assistant manager suggested an engine cleaning treatment that, under these circumstances, was very well needed. Without his prompting, I would not have thought about using this treatment on my car.
Overall, I felt your staff provided very friendly, attentive and competent service during my oil change.

I've been an Uncle Ed's customer for a long time, and have always been happy with the service. But I want to give a special Thank You to the team who helped me this past week--especially the manager on duty, Ed. I came in, close to closing time, to have a headlight replaced. They identified that I actually had 3 lights out! When I started the car up Ed noticed that my battery was about to die--I said, "How did you know that? It actually did need to be jumped a short time ago!" I knew I needed a new battery but didn't know that Uncle Ed's sold them. He said they could put one in for me, which I appreciated since I could get everything taken care of in one stop. Who ever put the old battery in (at AAA roadside service) did a bad job, and it was very difficult to get it out--but Ed was very patient and tried a few different things and was able to get the old one out and the new one hooked up properly. He seemed very knowledgeable about cars, and took care to explain to me everything that they were doing. I really felt that Ed and the team went above and beyond to make sure my car was running well, and to give me exceptional service. Thanks very much to Ed and the team!

The guys at this location are EXCELLENT. They went above and beyond to help us today. I had a dead battery and I called to see what time they closed so I could bring my car in. Jeris answered the phone and had one of the guys, Brandon, come to my location and jump my battery for me. So nice and a huge relief as I was waiting for AAA which would have been 60-90 minutes.

Your people were good with the theatrics of finishing their work, but forgot to take my credit card, to give it back, and to reset my oil life sensor. These were all done by the time I left but it was customer driven. If they are following a process and checklist it's by rote memory and not actually synchronized and nobody was running point on making sure you got paid.

Originally came in on 10/12, process was started (fluids check, light inspection, etc.) but staff were not able to perform oil change in a (their words) reasonable amount of time due to issues with other customers. So I came back on 10/15 to finish it. This was not a problem per se, but the manager ("Ed") on 10/12 promised a discount, which I did not receive. (Then again, I didn't ask for it, as I did not see "Ed" until the very end, so my bad.) Staff are frankly *too* friendly, it feels like an act. Ironically, the younger/newer staff ("Louis") actually felt the most sincere! Give it a rest, guys, you're obviously acting. Be friendly, yes, but not robotic.

Came in for an oil change, and transmission flush both of which were already prepaid for. Was told I needed a drivers side break light, which was fine. I inquired about the price, but was never told if the service was completed. The worst part of my experience was being told that my vehicles dip stick may break due to how hot it was outside, so your techs would be "Careful" while trying to remove it. One said that if it breaks I can replace it for you for $15, "let me check and see if I have one in stock". After my oil change and transmission flush however, your team of 3 found it necessary for me to sit in my vehicle in the 95 degree heat while they "worked" on my dip stick. It wasn't until I complained about needing to get back to work, that they asked if I could return tomorrow so they could finish and get me back on the road for today. I not one usually to complain, but I was very dissatisfied with this crews lack of customer service and respect. I won't be returning to this location.

The manager Ed was great. He was very kind and respectful. I had my wife's car in a few weeks ago and my son was freakin out and Ed made things happen super fast. I appreciate how friendly and proper he is, seems honest as well. I voiced concerns about the quality of the oil as I could not see that it was coming from a quality container and he did a pretty good job of convincing me it was tested and of proper quality. Still a little sketched that I am laying a premium price for some recycled crud , but yeah, that's why I generally try and do it myself, but Ed helps me trust you guys a bit more.

There was a hidden fee of 7.50 for removing the skid plate that i wasn't aware of. Oil change took over 30 minutes because the mechanic had a difficult time with the skid plate. $60 overall for a conventional oil change is pretty expensive. (I was told it wad 45)

I had to get an oil change and I knew there were a few places that did that on my way to work. The first place I went to I parked and went in, everyone in the office was on the phone and I had to wait five minutes just to ask if they had time to squeeze me in before work which they didn't and they told me it would take at least 45 minutes to complete the oil change once they did have availability.
I continued down the road and found your shop, drove in, was ushered right into one of the spots, there was immediate availability, everyone was super friendly, the service was very fast and my technician was informative about his recommendations but not pushy at all. I didn't even have to get out of my car. The whole experience was fast, easy, friendly... there's not much more I could ask for. Prices weren't inexpensive exactly but not overly expensive either. I'd say competitive. I'll definitely return. It's a great a convenient place to stop in to get a fast change without hassle.

Uncle Ed's is not particularly close to my home, so I don't always get an oil change here; however, each time I do, I realize I need to make the effort to get here more often. They give the most thorough check of the car and I leave knowing that I've been well cared for. This manager in particular found a cabin filter that needed changing. I don't think it had ever been changed from the time it was installed (2001!) I didn't even know a cabin filter existed. At any rate, I am thankful for his thoroughness and I will be back for more service.

The Sunday crew seemed a little disorganized. They had 3 vehicles come in at different times and tried to sort of handle all 3 simultaneously......so not really giving the right level of attention to ANY of them.
I think they actually could have been faster and more professional had they just focused on 1 vehicle at a time........performed full service on each vehicle with pit crew speed and efficiency......and showed off their teamwork and enthusiasm.

Went in to get a headlight bulb replaced. Was informed that I indeed had that bulb out along with an accessory bulb. I explained to them that I know that one accessory bulb is out but cannot find a replacement bulb for it. I explained that it looks like a 194-B light bulb, but is actually a 2821 which happens to have different wattage, amperage and lumens; compared to the 194-B. The person I told (who was very polite) relayed the information to someone else and they claimed that "Yeah, we have that one." There was then an issue with the old headlight bulb coming out of the car to which the technician working on the car stated to another technician "I'm done with this one; I am getting too frustrated." The next technician then began to work on the headlight. During the process, I noticed one technician removing the two bolts on top of the headlight housing in order to see if they can remove the headlight housing in its entirety (a process which involves removing a third hidden bolt underneath the bumper cover.) They then abandoned that idea and continued to try and get the bulb out through the back of the housing. After a small time, one of the technicians took me outside of the car and stated that whoever put the headlight in last had put it in incorrectly and due to this; they may not be able to replace the bulb. I told them that that was fine and to just let me know. The technician stated that he would continue to work on it. After a few more minutes; they traded off technicians again and then I was told that the bulb was replaced and to turn on my headlights. I noticed right away that the headlight did not match up horizontally to the other side light in which it had before. They then stated that they were able to replace the smaller bulb as well. I asked to confirm that the light they installed was the correct small bulb in which they answered:yes. As I left the shop; I looked down on my receipt and saw that they had used the 194-B bulb that I directly told them was the incorrect bulb for the car. When I got home; I released the hood to inspect why the headlight bulb was not lining up correctly and saw that the bulb was not installed correctly. They also did not reinstall the headlight housing bolts that they had removed. Also, on my receipt is the notice that "Light housing damaged on arrival" to which it was not.
I don't even want to return to the shop to retrieve my missing bolts. I will go elsewhere. This shop needs a serious staff intervention.

The guys were so disorganized and kept yelling at each other asking if something was done or not. One guy would only do half of the job and go to another car and not come back to put air in the other two tires. Not good team work. Someone moved my oil cap to another cart. When another guy went to replace it, he grabbed the cap belonging to another car. The windshield was wiped with a towel leaving grease all over it. I asked for a redo before leaving and it made it worse. I had to go to a car wash directly afterwards.

I actually came in once with my boyfriend when his car broke down at night and Uncle Ed's crew was unbelievably helpful. They were past closing time and still opened the shop to help us out and check out his car. They went above and beyond to make sure we got the help we needed and didn't even ask for any money. We tipped them regardless because they were so helpful. I went in today with my car for an oil change and they found that my fuel filter had rusted substantially. With my approval they ordered the part on the spot, got it delivered to the store and changed the part, all in less than 25 minutes. The service technician was new. He was friendly and eager to learn. His manager, Ed, however, was not friendly. As a manager myself, I understand training new hires can be tedious and frustrating at times, yet it is an essential part of the job.
I had complained of my power steering feeling "tight" as soon as I came in. One of the techs drew a sample and said, "it's dark" as he was walking around towards me. Ed walked in front of him and with his back to me began to low-talk into the tech's ear. The tech then turned around and never showed me the sample. I told my service tech that I wasn't shown the power steering fluid sample and that I'd like to see what it's supposed to look like. My service tech then drew another sample, but before he could show it to me Ed took it from him and walked to one side of the garage with it and then back to the front of my car. I couldn't see what was happening from beneath my hood, but it felt shady.
As it turns out, I had just had the Power Steering service 3 months prior. Ed did finally come around to show me the sample, which was much darker than the light yellow power steering fluid in the container. He said, "you can't go by the color." I told him the color is why I was told I had to get the power steering service the time before, so that didn't make sense. Ed said it was because my car was older and that it would look like that after 2,000 miles similar to how oil looks darker if you don't consistently change it every 3,000 miles . His actions by stopping two different techs from showing me the sample gave me the impression that he didn't want to do the right thing.
Ed was extremely intense about the time and that they hadn't even been able to "start" because I hadn't decided upon which type of oil to use. When I decided against the High Mileage oil, that stopped Ed and he made the case why I should use that instead of the conventional. I agreed to the High Mileage and he said "perfect."
My impression is that Ed's performance is based upon certain metrics, which likely include Time In and Time Out, and probably the sale of additional services. I was VERY reluctant to give him credit for another additional service, but I decided my car was more important and agreed to the Fuel Injection Service.
I have never had such a poor experience at this store. I usually go in after work instead of the middle of the afternoon. None of the guys looked familiar to me. Not even Ed, though he said he recalled me from my last visit. He may have seen me, but I usually have worked with a younger guy with curly dark hair and glasses. In summary, Ed could have treated his new staff better, particularly in front of customers (maybe take the staff into the office away from our view); and he seemed very deceptive about the power steering fluid. The proper treatment of staff can be addressed and corrected. But I can not forget the unsettling feeling that Ed was concealing something from me. I had trusted the service I received there over the years, but that trust is now gone.

Came in for a basic oil change expecting to pay 29.95-$45.00 and was charged $165.36 on a two year old vehicle!!!!
Then, the oil leaked out on my driveway, had to take the vehicle BACK up for repair. They did send someone out to our house to clean the drive. Now they are telling us to wait 48 hours for the oil spots to be removed. You can still see them on my driveway today.
I am furious and livid and want a full refund for this horrible experience.
I am exceptionally active at two local schools in the area and will be sure to spread my complete dissatisfaction about my experience of paying $165 for an oil change and having your company attempt to clean my driveway unsuccessful to as many people as possible.
I expect a speedy resolution to this matter!

I travel on he road a lot. I had an adverse experience with the dealer 4 years ago which lead me to Uncle Ed's. I have left since. The technicians are young men who are very knowledgeable, respectful and have great manners. I trust their recommendations. This organization is very honest. I wish they had them in the states of GA or SC down South.
I want to especially extend my sincere and deepest appreciation as a disable retired veteran to Corderro W, who was awesome at reviewing my service history. He showed me how brown my power fluid was and recommended additional service. My Hummer H3 is an investment. I feel his intervention will prolong to quality of my vehicle. Also I would like to thank Benjamin H, who was also very helpful and attentive. I would like to acknowledge the special mechanical skills of Daniel H. Even though I have had nothing but prepaid oil changes all in a row, the attendants told me I could not purchase one because I just used one. When I told them that I had always done that they told me I had not and they were very condescending.
I bring my truck in two to three times a year and I bring my wife's car in 4 or 5 times a year. I have been using Uncle Ed's for decades, but I will not be using you any more. The reason is that I do not have confidence in your employees any more.
It is a shame that this is the way they treat a loyal customer; the way that you treat a loyal customer.

In addition to the usual excellent service, Corderro was kind enough to help me prioritize the services the car was due for. I always feel confident having the various maintenance services done here because I don't feel like I'm being pressured into unnecessary services. I feel like I can trust the recommendations I receive, especially from Corderro. He also managed to catch that the ends of the brake booster line were cracking and needed to be replaced. Although he couldn't replace it, but did all he could to ensure I could leave the shop and be safe.

The manager had a noticeable attitude when I declined any additional services outside of an oil change. I realize it's his job to upsell, and that he likely gets incentivized to do so, but don't give a customer attitude when they decline. That, coupled with the computer going down when I needed to pay and leave, delaying me for over 10 minutes has ensured I will not return to Uncle Ed's.

Make coupons that don't expire, I come in every time and spend a lot of money for a basic oil change compared to the ten dollars my dealership charges me, and there I get a multiple point inspection as well. I come to uncle eds out of convenience even though it's twenty four dollars more than Midas next door, who also does a multi point inspection and a tire rotation. I spent 143.00 for an oil change and an engine flush, it's just a lot of money to spend on something that simple.

I pay a different price every god damn time I'm there. I come to you guys because of your location and convenience. they charged me 75 dollars for a synthetic blend oil change... are you joking? I could get that done for less than 30-40 anywhere else. I could get it done for less at the dealership. That is outrageous. On top of that. I over pay and then they try and charge me 11 bucks to change a brake light when I brought in my own light. I am furious with this uncle eds. I won't be returning unless I get fair prices or coupons emailed to me before hand.

This was bye far the worst oil change ever!!!! Way too ' awkwardly Forward' in there customer service. Told me one price and gave me another. The technician failed to put the oil gasket back on properly and the engine was damaged. They have had it towed to the dealer and we will see if a lawsuit can be avoided. This was the single most negligent experience I have had in my life

My wife and i came in today and had a wonderful experience. the technicians were very helpful and informative. we especially want to thank jacob for going above and beyond for my wife and i . we greatly appreciate the fact that he took his time to fix a leak in our hose line for our windshield wipers. and was very determined and very attentive to detail when correcting the problem. we also appreciate the fact that he was friendly and also the friendly atmosphere. we are both from South Carolina and up here for a couple of days and we are both very happy with the quality of service that was given to us today we will definitely recommend I'm going to your establishment to our friends and in the near future. we both want to thank all your staff and especially Jacob for such great service today.

This is a complex review, but positive in the whole. After my oil change for a 93' Volvo, it was idling VERY rough in the parking lot. It was about -5 degrees out, so needless to say it wasn't very comfortable out there to diagnose. One of the technicians came out and tried to diagnose, to no luck. Then we brought it back inside to look some more. No one could figure it out. After some time, however, it did start working on it's own accord. I've diagnosed the problem now and it's related to my idle air control valve and throttle body; I think the under-carriage spraying might have dislodged something (or perhaps shorted the valve out / increased corrosion). It's an older car so I don't hold Uncle Ed's responsible in the slightest. Why I AM doing this review is the absolutely stellar, professional, and wonderful way I was treated by the manager Brad. Before the problem was "fixed", Brad wanted me to complete the survey regardless of the outcome. They even called in the regional manager at one point to help, but by that time the problem had gone away enough I could drive off. But I can't say enough how much I respected the way that Brad treated me, his technicians, and the whole situation. That kind of calm, confidence, and honsety in handling of the situation - you got to remember it was -5 degrees, with a strange unknown problem - floored me. He's the kind of person I would build a business around. Many thanks to Brad, he's far and away the reason I will keep coming back to Uncle Ed's. I should mention, all the technicians at this location were also incredibly friendly and helpful too, without fail.

2 things-1)The tech had me open my door so he could see the recommended tire pressure which was 30 psi and he asked if that was OK which I said yes. Later I asked him how much he put in and he told me 32 psi because it was cold. If the recommended pressure is 30 and I ask for 30, why should the tech put 32 psi? 2) Someone took my air filter cover off to check the filter. When they put it back on (after I purchased a new one) I heard a sound like a screw falling. I checked the cover at home and the tech just put the screw with not nut to hold the cover down.
I'm not faulting the manager as he asked once he heard about the tire pressure if things were OK and if I was satisfied, which I was then. He seemed engaged in the operation. But now with both incidents I will not be returning to Uncle Ed's. I used to have my daughter come here because I thought it was safe, now I will make sure she also goes elsewhere, probably returning to the dealer. Usually I don't do these surveys but I had such a bad experience today I thought someone should know.
